Project Manager Mongolia
Karin Deckenbach is a political scientist. She learned professional journalism from bottom up at the “Frankfurter Rundschau”, working many years as reporter, editor and foreign correspondent for newspapers, magazines and the ARD Radio from south-east Asia, Spain and Washington DC. Based on these experiences she wanted to start where good journalism ends – trying to support the implementation of change for the better. Hence she worked as a press spokeswoman and head of public relations for non-profit organisations like the “Bundesverband Arbeiterwohlfahrt” and the “Naturschutzbund Deutschland” as well as for the German government implementation organisation GIZ in an EU project in Myanmar linking police reform efforts with civil society organisations and the media. Currently she is the project manager for the Media Ownership Monitor in Mongolia.
